Financial Statement Requirements

When it is established whether a company has to register any financial statements with the Companies Office, there are a number of requirements which need to be followed. Chief amongst these is the specification of exactly needs to be filed.

Currently, the list is as follows:

  • Statement of Financial Position
  • Statement of Financial Performance Statement of Cashflows
  • Statement of Movements of Equity
  • Statement of Accounting Policies
  • Audit Report
  • Notes on the Accounts

Further, there are a number of extra conditions:

  • The accounts must all be signed by two of the directors of the company, in the case that there be only one director, than their signature will suffice.
  • If the company in question is a non-trading company it will still have to submit financial statements, whether they have anything to report or not. In this case, the Statement of Financial Performance can be replaced with a note in the Statement of Accounting Policies or the Notes, reporting that the company carried out no trading.
